- Milana Abbruscato, a 4th year Bachelor of Environmental Sciences student at the University of Guelph.

- Joshua Hall, a 4th year Media and Communication student at Trinity Western University.
About the Recipients

Hannah Howitt
University of Calgary
Pampered Chef
Hannah is a second-year student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at the University of Calgary. She is completing her degree with a major in biomedical science, after which she is hoping to get into medical school and become a doctor. Eventually, she hopes to either work as an emergency room physician or be a surgeon. Her biggest goal as a future doctor is to provide patients and family with a sense of hope they might not be able to produce on their own.
Hannah cherishes the family bonding impacts of the Pampered Chef direct selling opportunity, including crowding around the kitchen table to see what new products were delivered in the mail, and trying out new recipes.

Milana Abbruscato
University of Guelph
AVON
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences degree at the University of Guelph, Milana has been helping her Nonna with Avon orders since she was eight years old. This has helped her to understand how business can be personal, impactful, and rooted in community. Milana also loves how direct selling highlights the value of entrepreneurship.
Milana’s career goal is to pursue a career in dentistry. Having volunteered in numerous health-related roles, she has witnessed the impact of compassionate care and hopes to bring this to her professional life.
For a deeper insight into Milana’s aspirations and experiences, watch her video submission.

Ulysee St-Louis
Cégep de Trois-Rivières
Mary Kay
Ulysee is stepping into his first year at CEGEP de Trois Rivieres in 2025 and will be studying Social Sciences. Being exposed to direct selling through his mom’s Mary Kay business has taught Ulysee valuable life skills that he carries with him every day, including self-discipline, listening actively, and the power of a positive mindset.
Like many students his age, Ulysee has gone through schooling during the COVID years, and he is proud of the resilience he showed in the face of online classes, isolation, and a lack of structure. He succeeded by choosing to stay focused and push through the hard times, something his mother had modelled in her direct selling role.

Joshua Hall
Trinity Western University
Amway
Joshua is embarking on his fourth year in the Media and Communication program at Trinity Western University. He is inspired by the commitment to learning and self growth that is a hallmark of his family’s time with Amway.
Joshua was born with a rare brain disorder, and is in a wheelchair and unable to speak. With the support of an amazing team of people, he is the first student with complex, manifold disabilities to study and live on campus at Trinity Western.
Joshua believes his life is a testimony of overcoming tremendous adversity and that he would not be where he is without the incredible impact that the direct selling business has had on his family.
