When is it?

Direct Sellers Day will take place on September 18, 2024 to help raise awareness of the direct selling opportunity across Canada.

2024 Theme: My Independent Spirit

This year’s theme, My Independent Spirit, will celebrate the autonomy and creativity in direct selling and showcase how direct selling empowers independence and personal growth.

Activities to Get Involved In! 

  • DSA Canada member companies can nominate an ISC for the 2024 DSA Canada Independent Sales Consultant (ISC) Awards until August 9. Four awards will be presented at our awards ceremony taking place on September 18, 2024, in Toronto.
  • ISCs are invited to take the Code of Ethics Quiz to receive a quiz completion certificate that can be shared on Direct Sellers Day with their social networks.

Celebrate Direct Sellers Day with Social Media Actions!

  • DSA Canada Member companies, their ISCs and their employees can share their My Independent Spirit story on Direct Sellers Day using tools in this toolkit. 
  • Follow our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn social media pages.
  • Use our Direct Sellers Day hashtags #MyIndependentSpirit, #DSD2024, and #DSACanada to share your direct selling stories.
  • Change your profile photo to our specially designed Direct Sellers Day frame.
  • Use the sample posts and graphics provided below to create and share your own content.

Share These Industry Statistics in Your Messages!

Current research indicates that 2 in 3 Canadians are interested in pursuing opportunities to make additional income and 58% believe that direct selling is a realistic option for them to participate in.

  • In 2023, over 1.1 million Canadians signed up to participate in direct selling – 84% of them are women.
  • The top three reasons why Canadians choose to participate in direct selling include:
    • to earn additional income,
    • to become an entrepreneur, and
    • to develop themselves personally (e.g. learn new skills, become more confident, etc.).
  • The top three professional skills learned by ISCs through their participation in direct selling include:
    • self-esteem and confidence,
    • social media and digital, and
    • sales and marketing.
  • 3 in 5 (60%) Canadians consider a recommendation from a trusted person to be important when purchasing products or services.
