Transfer pathways search

Students entering the Community and Justice Services Diploma program in Fall 2024 or later will receive the following 7.5 transfer credits, provided they meet eligibility requirements:

• 0.5 CRIM 1615H - Introduction to Criminology
• 0.5 FRSC 1100H - Introduction to Canadian Justice
• 0.5 INDG 1001H - The Foundation for Reconciliation
• 0.5 PSYC 1020H - Introduction to Psychology Part 1: Experimental and Biological Bases of Behaviour
• 0.5 SOCI 1001H - Introduction to Sociology I: Critical Foundations
• 0.5 WRIT 2002H - Write It Up: Effective Communication
• 0.5 unassigned Policing and Community Well-being credit at the 2000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Philosophy credit at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Psychology credit at the 2000 level, B2 category
• 0.5 unassigned Social Work credit at the 2000 level
• 1.5 unassigned Arts credits at the 1000 level
• 1.0 unassigned Arts credits at the 3000 level

*Additional notes: Students who have completed Fleming College's Indigenous Perspectives Designation (IPD) are also eligible to receive transfer credit for INDG 1002H - Foundations of Modern Indigenous Life. Students must notify admissions@trentu.ca that they have completed the IPD in order to receive the additional credit. 

Students who entered the Community and Justice Services Diploma program prior to Fall 2024 are encouraged to contact Trent University about transfer credits received through this pathway.

To qualify for this pathway, students must:

• Successfully complete Fleming College's Community and Justice Services Diploma program;
• Achieve a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students interested in degree programs not included in this pathway are referred to the Trent University website for information about admission requirements. Applicants will be considered in accordance with Trent University's general admission requirements. Students who meet the terms of the pathway will be eligible to receive the block of credits, but all transfer credits received may not be apply in full to all degree programs. 

Applicants who do not meet the minimum average requirements, but who are otherwise admissible to Trent University, will be considered for admission based on general admission requirements.

• 0.5 PLCW 1003H - Social Determinants of Health and Crime
• 0.5 PLCW 2002H - Community Problem-Solving and Analysis
• 0.5 PLCW 2005H - Diversity and Exclusion
• 0.5 PLCW 2010H - Conflict Resolution
• 0.5 PLCW 2100H - Research Methods in Policing and Community Well-being
• 0.5 PLCW 3002H - Mental Health, Addiction and Community Well-being
• 0.5 PLCW 3003H - Violence in the Community
• 0.5 PLCW 3007H - Problem-solving in a Complex and Diverse Community
• 0.5 SOCI 1002H - Introduction to Sociology II: Exploring Social Life
• 0.5 additional Policing and Community Well-being credit at the 2000 level or beyond
• 2.0 elective credits, including:
  • At least 1.5 credit at the 3000 and/or 4000 level(s).

*Additional notes: Requirements outlined above lead to a Bachelor of Arts (General) in Policing and Community Well-being. Students interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Policing and Community Well-being are required to complete 12.5 credits (roughly 2.5 years of full-time study) at Trent University.

This Agreement will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if significant curriculum changes occur at either institution that may impact the pathway. Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing one year's written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the parties will make reasonable efforts to ensure that students currently enrolled in the pathway are able to complete their studies without disruption.
