Requirements

The Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate Diploma at George Brown College is a unique program in Canada, offering an intensive combination of feminist anti-oppressive counselling and political action courses that include the skills of support and activism needed to advocate for women and other gender marginalized people, their children, and their communities.
Graduates with a degree in the following programs may qualify for direct entry to year two of the Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate Diploma.  (Women’s Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology).

Applicants are required to complete a questionnaire and interview and well as provide a portfolio of previous learning and experience.  Each applicant’s record will be individually assessed to ensure all learning outcomes from year one have been achieved.  Where there are gaps, students may be required to take additional year one courses.
