Course Equivalencies Granted

Eligible applicants will be awarded advanced standing to second year of the Early Childhood Education, and receive credit for completion of total credit value of first year of the receiving college.

Transfer is done as a block of courses (courses listed as exempt, with no grade recorded at receiving college) and will not impact on GPA calculations or calculations for term or graduating recognition at the receiving college.

Transfer students will be required to complete a college level English and a general education credit along with all second year courses in order to earn their Early Childhood Education diploma.

Grade equivalencies are addressed by this transfer pathway agreement as follows:

• Participating colleges will accept the course “pass” designation for all other colleges regardless of specific grade earned,
• Calculation of the cumulative GPA is at the discretion of the receiving college. Please discuss with the transfer advisor,
• Transfer credit for courses will typically be recorded on the receiving college transcript in terminology such as “transfer credit” or “exemption” rather than a grade.

Requirements

Student must have successfully completed 11 of the 22 modules of the Child Development Practitioner Apprenticeship program from their sending college and meet any other admissions requirements of the receiving college.

Students are eligible for the pathway regardless of the admissions standards they met to enter year one at the sending college.

Admissions will be subject to the processes of the college being applied to. Where application numbers exceed the capacity of any college, additional selection and approval requirements may apply. Student application will be through the Ontario College Application System and must conform to the published timelines, www.ontariocolleges.ca
