Eligible applicants must have completed a two-year Ontario College Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion and the minimum admission requirement is that applicants must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.4 or greater (average C).  Program requirements will continue to be in accordance with the existing Sheridan admission criteria, policies, and procedures.

Bridging

Students who have completed the Fitness and Health Promotion 2-Year Diploma from and have achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.4 or greater (average C), will progress to Year 3 (Semester 5) into the Bachelor of Health Sciences – Kinesiology and Health Promotion, provided they have enrolled in the Spring/Summer Degree Completion consisting of the following six courses:

Please Note: Degree Completion program begins in May only. The Spring/Summer bridging program will be delivered in two 7-week blocks (four out of five core courses will be delivered in a compressed format). Courses without pre-requisites or where pre-requisites have been fulfilled will remain on a 14-week schedule.

Cancellation Policy

This agreement is in effect for a period of 5 years beginning in January 2024. The Dean or the Associate Dean of the program may extend the period of the agreement. 

Sheridan has been granted a consent by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities to offer this degree for a further seven-year term starting January 18, 2024 and subject to renewal thereafter. Application to the Ministry for renewal of the consent is a prescribed and cyclical requirement for degree programs at all Ontario Colleges. Sheridan will ensure that all students admitted to the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences (Kinesiology and Health Promotion) program during the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame. Credentials earned during the period of consent remain valid, even if Ministry consent to offer the program is withdrawn in the future. Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and the degree will be appropriate to their needs (e.g. acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies, or other educational institutions).
