Transfer pathways search

Students entering General Arts and Science - Pathway to Diplomas and Degrees Certificate program in Fall 2026 or later will receive the following 5.0 transfer credits, provided they meet eligibility requirements: 

• 0.5 SOCI 1001H – Introduction to Sociology I: Critical Foundations 
• 0.5 WRIT 1001H – Write in Time 
• 0.5 WRIT 2003H - Workplace Communications
• 0.5 unassigned Media Studies credit at the 1000 level
• 3.0 unassigned Arts credits at the 1000 level

*Additional notes:

• Students who completed GGAS 111 - Delving into Media and Creative Arts through elective credits at Humber Polytechnic are eligible to receive 0.5 unassigned Media Studies credit at the 1000 level in place of 0.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 1000 level. Students must e-mail admissions@trentu.ca to have their transfer credits adjusted.
• Students who completed GHST 101 - Canadian Studies: Modern Perspectives through elective credits at Humber Polytechnic are eligible to receive 0.5 unassigned Canadian Studies credit at the 1000 level in place of 0.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 1000 level. Students must e-mail admissions@trentu.ca to have their transfer credits adjusted.

Students who entered the General Arts and Science Certificate program prior to Fall 2025 are encouraged to contact Trent University about transfer credits received through this pathway.

To qualify for this pathway, students must:

• Successfully complete Humber Colleges ’s General Arts and Science Certificate;
• A minimum overall average of 75%.

Transfer credits awarded through this pathway may not apply in full to all degree programs. Students are encouraged to consult an academic advisor regarding the applicability of transfer credits to their chosen program and for assistance with degree planning.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum average requirements, but who are otherwise admissible to Trent University, will be considered for admission based on general admission requirements.

Bridging

Students pursuing majors for which equivalent introductory courses are not included in the transfer credit block may be encouraged to complete these courses in the term prior to beginning full-time studies at Trent University. Completing required introductory courses in advance may increase access to upper-year course options during a student's first year of study at Trent University. Students are strongly encouraged to consult an academic advisor for assistance with degree planning and course selection (https://trentu.ca/advising).
